What science knows
Jojoba is technically a liquid wax whose ester structure closely resembles human sebum — the reason it absorbs without occlusion, balances rather than smothers, and suits oily and dry skin alike. Its stability is legendary: jojoba resists oxidation for years where seed oils fade in months.
What tradition says
The O'odham and other peoples of the Sonoran Desert pressed jojoba seeds for skin and hair long before cosmetics labs existed; the plant survives where almost nothing else grows — a desert lesson in doing more with less.
In your ritual
In AYA, jojoba is the diplomat: it carries the actives in, mirrors your skin's own lipids, and leaves no trace but softness.
